What to see
Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, with Nabataean tombs carved into the rock. The mirrored Maraya concert hall, Elephant Rock, the Old Town and Arts Street, ancient Dadan and Jabal Ikmah with their inscriptions, the Old Oasis trail among the palms and viewpoints over the Harrat volcanic plateau.
Best time to visit
October to March: warm, sunny days and cool nights. In summer (June to August) daytime temperatures can exceed 40 °C.
Travel tips
Hegra can only be visited on an organised tour, so book tickets in advance. Bring comfortable closed shoes, a hat and water: there is a lot of walking on sand between sites. Desert evenings are cool even in the warm season, so pack a layer.

How do I get to AlUla?
AlUla has an international airport (ULH) with flights from Riyadh and Jeddah. We arrange the flight from Almaty and any domestic connections to suit your dates.
Can I visit Hegra on my own?
No. Hegra is open only to ticketed, organised tours. The tour is already included in our programmes.
What should I wear in AlUla?
Comfortable clothing that covers shoulders and knees, closed shoes for sand and rocks, a hat and sunglasses. A warm layer is useful in the evening.
