About the destination

Red Sea

What to see

The islands and coral reefs of the Red Sea: Six Senses Southern Dunes and Shebara with its overwater villas, snorkelling boat trips off Yanbu, and the Farasan archipelago with the Al Qandal mangroves. Come to relax, dive, kayak and watch sunsets over the dunes.

Best time to visit

October to April: water around 25–28 °C and warm but not hot days. In summer the sea is very warm and temperatures on land exceed 38 °C.

Travel tips

Bring reef-safe sunscreen and light long-sleeved clothing for sun protection. A hat and water are useful on boat trips. Do not touch the coral: it is prohibited and can be dangerous.

FAQ: Red Sea

How do I get to the Red Sea resorts?

We fly Scat Airlines from Almaty to Jeddah, then take a domestic flight to Red Sea International Airport or a transfer. Depending on the hotel, you reach the resort by boat, car or seaplane.

Do I need to swim to go snorkelling?

You should be comfortable in the water. The organisers provide masks, fins and life jackets and give a briefing before going out.

Is the Red Sea good for a family holiday?

Yes. The resorts have pools, calm beaches and shallow lagoons, and we choose activities to suit the children’s ages.
